Fabio Röhe graduated in Ecology at The State University of Sao Paulo, Campus Rio Claro (UNESP-RC), and MSc in Ecology at Instituto Nacional de Pesquisas da Amazonis INPA, working mainly with Amazon and Atlantic Forest birds and mammals, including feeding ecology of wild cats, primate inter-specific interactions, monitoring of mammals and ecology of some Neotropical species (Primates, Felids, Psittacidae, raptors). In the past 5 years Fabio has changed his focus to taxonomic and ecological studies of Amazonian primates.

In addition, to conducting mammal inventories in this region. He worked in development of management plans, and wildlife assessments, courses in field techniques to work with mammals, elaboration of monitoring plans for wildlife and resources management in sustainable development reserves (ProBUC SDS-AM), predictive modeling of geographic distribution, studies in ecology, taxonomic and biogeography with Amazonian primates, having already served in the biomes Atlantic Forest, Cerrado, Pantanal and Amazon. He received a Vote of Applause from the Federal Senate of Brazil by advances in biologic knowledge of Madeira-Purus interfluvium, Central Amazon. Presently he is collaborator researcher with the WCS Brazil, Manaus.

Presently he is researcher (and Amazon Office Manager) with the WCS Brazil, Manaus. Fabio is currently investigating the inter-specific relationship between S. midas and the Bare face tamarins (Saguinus bicolor, S. m. ochraceus e S. m. martinsi) with an evaluation of threats for Saguinus bicolor. Fabio has been working in the taxonomic revision of Saguinus nigricollis species group. In the last three years he has been involved in the issue of sample gaps in Brazilian Amazonia. Also, has been working in the WCS’s Project “Cryptic effects of the re-paving of the BR 319: Building the null hypothesis for the monitoring of mammal”. Is currently a member IUCN/SSC Primate Specialist Group.
